Triangles
A "Yield" sign, the roof of a corner store, the frame of a cell tower, the support of a skate ramp: the triangle is the most widely used shape in construction because, unlike a square, it cannot be deformed without breaking a side. By the end of this page you will know how to check whether three rods close into a triangle and how to place a tower at the same distance from three towns.
Elements of a triangle
The exterior angle
If you extend one side of the triangle, the angle formed outside, next to a vertex, is an exterior angle. That angle and the interior angle at the same vertex are adjacent, so they add up to $180^\circ$.
