Polynomial Function
An observation drone takes off from a rooftop in the Zona Colonial, and the control center records its height at every instant: $h(t) = -5t^2+20t+2$. That expression is a polynomial in $t$, and the graph of the flight is the graph of a polynomial function. What is the maximum height the drone reaches? We will answer it at the end of the page.
What a polynomial function is

Domain in a context
The expression of a polynomial can be evaluated at any real number. But when the function models a real problem, the context restricts the domain: a length cannot be negative or zero, a time cannot be negative, a number of units cannot be negative.
